PeerTube Updated to 8.3.0

published

We’ve updated P.LU to PeerTube 8.3.0.

Easier video management

You can now edit selected video metadata in bulk and add or remove multiple videos from playlists in My Videos. Failed imports can be retried, and channel synchronizations let you choose the default privacy of imported videos.

Creators also get an option to disable embedding entirely. For viewers, comments render faster, and scrolling through a transcript no longer snaps it back to the current playback position. A “Sync with video” button restores automatic scrolling.

Shared moderation tools

PeerTube now supports subscriptions to remote blocklists and watched-word lists. Administrators can synchronize blocked accounts and servers; watched-word subscriptions work at both platform and account level. These tools are available in the release, and subscribing to a list is a separate choice.

Security and fixes

This release fixes a permission bug that allowed moderators to change user roles. It also strengthens email verification and adds rate limits for comments, abuse reports, and token confirmation. New-device logins trigger an email notification.

Other fixes address choppy playback with variable-frame-rate videos and channel synchronizations skipping videos after an interrupted sync.

See the official PeerTube 8.3.0 release notes for the full changelog.
